Day is over is a post-apocalyptic lament, times being what they are.
It is unapologetically bleak but perhaps with a crack where the light gets in.

Gospel plow and Working on a building are from the gospel folk tradition inspired by renditions by Chance McCoy and Tim O'Brien respectively.

The Mayor comes to town is a melody by Edoardo (aka 'The Mayor') which
he wanted to call Fiddle Tuna and was thankfully persuaded not to.
It is also one of two tracks to feature the nifty fingers of Danilo Ombres on tabla.

Matan was inspired to write My My My from the traditional melody Snow Drop
and by the music and musings of his friend Nick Mulvey, to whom it is dedicated.There is no greater heartbreak song than Tennessee Waltz (Stewart / King) presented here in 3 different keys, 'cause why not, and with the last verse (penned by Leonard Cohen) sung by the honeyed voice of our friend Thony, who also blesses our rendition of another gospel classic Down by the riverside,
held down by Marco's soulful bass lines .

Someday I'm gonna find you was an attempt at a more muscular sound. We had imagined a New Orleans style finale with all kinds of instruments soloing over each other, but we ran out of money.
